Ohh..more about Drugs..shhh

Well, I was curious, especially since so little is said on the package regarding warnings, so I went to Wiki and read a little. It seems though the company who manufacturers Spice or K-2 claims that the ingredients are a natural plant herb product, but when  tested no trace of a natural plants could be found. The product simulates natural cannabis,  but is made up of entirely unnatural ingredients. Spice first showed up in Germany 2004, and most of the  European countries have basically banned it, but it is widely used in the states. I cannot help but wonder why the FDA has never done any research on it.  I am quoting Wiki in the next section, it is just easier to discuss safety issues this way.

"Safety"

"No official studies have been conducted on its effects on humans.[24] Though its effects are not well documented, extremely large doses may cause negative effects that are generally not noted in marijuana users, such as increased agitation and vomiting.[25] Professor John W. Huffman who first synthesised many of the cannabinoids used in synthetic cannabis is quoted as saying, "People who use it are idiots."[24] "You don't know what it's going to do to you."[26] A user who consumed 3 g of Spice Gold every day for several months showed withdrawal symptoms, similar to those associated with withdrawing from the use of narcotics. Doctors treating the user also noted that his use of the product showed signs associated with addiction.[27] One case has been reported where a user, who had previously suffered from cannabis induced recurrent psychotic episodes, suffered reactivation of their symptoms after using Spice. Psychiatrists treating him have suggested that the lack of an antipsychotic chemical, similar to cannabidiol found in natural cannabis, may make synthetic cannabis more likely to induce psychosis than natural cannabis".[28]

Our own DEA ( Drug Enforcement Agency) had this to say:

"(DEA) considers it to be a "drug of concern",[60] citing "...a surge in emergency-room visits and calls to poison-control centers. Adverse health effects associated with its use include seizures, hallucinations, paranoid behavior, agitation, anxiety, nausea, vomiting, racing heartbeat and elevated blood pressure."[61]

It does seem as though  little has been done to actively stop the legal use, or maybe that it has been placed on a back burner so to speak. I still would hesitate to use daily  something that has so many questionable and unnatural chemicals as it's make up. Though claiming to be plant products, it is essentially false advertising. It's like LSD when it first came out..trying something new..and not knowing the long term effects that usage caused, damage on the cellular level, flash backs effects, brain damage, and psychological changes.

So..if you want to get high..make sure it is a natural high. Knowing that THC will show up in drug tests stops most recreational users. But...Spice or K2 will show up in a urine test as Wiki indicated. And who the hell knows what you are doing to your body with regular use.
