I've never been a huge fan of chatting..
In my past I've found that most strangers
who are chatting are searching for a victim,
or someone they can somehow use.
If I have something to say to a friend it's usually short and sweet,
good for a few laughs or some friendly commiseration.
To endlessly talk about nothing...yuck.
It's a lot of blah-blah-blah
which usually means one thing
"pay attention to me."
It's Sad that anyone needs constant contact to
justify and verify that they are important.
It speaks of a lack of confidence in themselves.
In Today's world you can tweet, IM, Text message, video chat,
(simply call) in a non-stop digital attack to make
sure someone is thinking of you.
It wears me out just thinking about it
and it's a depressing image of what our society
is currently developing into.
A world that you are not important unless you are acknowledged.
We can thank our computers, the internet and the unceasing
selling of new cell phone toys that pass for
today's entertainment.
(wondering if anyone realizes that the war that never ends in Africa's Congo
is over precious metals for their Toys that they must have.)
Used to be people knew themselves and cared about the impact they made on this planet.
Now we don't unless someone is sending us a message
telling us so.
